Through my eyes

Today I don't take you to a french chateau or something like that. Today I took some pictures from the park next to my new office. Our last office was next the Botanic Gardens. A wonderful place designed by René Pechère I wrote already an article about this master in gardens.

Our new office is just next to the gardens "le Mont des Arts". Meaning the mountain of the arts. And on that hill it's full of art and believe me. Every possible style of architecture is there. Some examples: the Royal library of belgium, the Royal Museums of fine arts, the Museum of music instruments, the Rene Magritte museum, the center for fine arts Brussels Bozar etc, etc...
The list is so long, you can get lost there a couple of days.

But the most important, the place is such a treat for the eye. If you like 50's, art nouveau, art deco, 70's, medieval, 19th century, or flemish baroque you will all find it there next to each other. We're used to that in Brussels. Some people find it strange. Putting a calder in a fountain in front of an art nouveau building, I suppose some will find this too much!

In the big brown 70's building I also work sometimes :-) I hope everybody like this little visit of a tiny piece of Brussels?

Inspiration

Last week I discovered this very nice site on the web. Don't ask my how I found it, I just don't know anymore. But who care's the interesting part is that we all can enjoy them and drool on the pictures.

Work in progress again

Dear Bloggers,

Thanks for the compliments on my previous project. After that I decided to frame the ancient pictures my boyfriend bought this year. Last two weeks was very busy, because on top the office was moving :-s. So in the evening there was no power anymore to produce something nice on the internet. Here are some result of the framing jobs. They are sometimes 16th, 17th or 18th century pictures.

And on top of it I did some shopping and found a wonderful round frame with a portrait of a lady. The funny thing is that the wonderful blog the essence of frenchness made a nice articles about portraits. The more funny is picture number then it's our bed before we bought it from a Paris antique dealer :-). It's a small world!!!

Isn't it nice to be surrounded by such little beauty's!!!!

As an added bonus, Ari will return to the decks for a couple of sets as well.  Get ready to dance.  And DRINK!

Also, I want to let you know that it's our awesome friend and co-worker Matt's birthday.  Give him birthday hugs on your way in!

See you soon!

From several crap objects to one New item in my collection

In my last article I wrote that I was working on several projects. Well here are some results. Like everybody around the world already will know. I am always shopping!!!! I even have a cupboard with shopping bags :-). But I am always also buying objects that most people would "call" crap.
Two weeks ago I went out with my friends and what better to do than to go hunting for some crap the morning after a nice night. It's a good way to get some fresh air!!!

So I bought some frames. And one of them was a gold one with a bulb glass. There were some wonderful plastic flowers in them. My boyfriend called my crazy to buy something like that.
I don't have to say the flowers didn't live long. I think one hour after the frame came home the frame was empty.
The only question was "What to put in the frame"

One of my best friends "Tottie" bought such a frame also a time ago and did also some DIY on it.

After a week of sleepless nights. I saw the light!!! I have a big box full of old belgian money.

So after some trying and some glue here is the result, I hope you like it.

Times is passing by

Well to be honest I don't see it passing by. Everything goes too quick, but I suppose thats a good sign. 24 hours a day isn't enough, 36hours would be ideal.

I am on several projects for the moment working in our house, keeping the bed and breakfast together with my boyfriend. Doing some little DIY projects on my own, creating a website, some antiques shopping and off course reading. Because don't we all read a lot on the internet. Looking for fantastic articles in blogland :-)

A couple of days ago, I think Last week ago I saw some gorgeous pictures in the New York Times.

And I just saw that Renee from Renee Finberg 'Tells All' wrote a nice article about it with gorgeous pictures.

What a great taste she has, thanks for sharing and I just put here the one's a really love. So I can drool on them.
