19th St.
This morning Stacypants reminded me of Rhea's Market & Deli, specifically their sandwich called 19th Street:
Boar's head medium rare roast beef, vermont cheddar, pepperjack, avocado, champagne vinegar pickled jalapeƱos, tomatoes, pickles, baby arugula, garlic aioli, Boar's head delicatessen mustard served on Acme organic street roll
After stopping by Vega for a soy latte and chatting with the gang, I couldn't get this sandwich out of my head. So of course, I got one. Not as good as the last one I had but very good nonetheless. I think I had too much cheese on mine - the pepperjack and vermont cheddar were a little overpowering.
Anyway, you should stop by Rhea's and try one of their signature sandwiches like the Korean Steak Sandwich, Katsu Sandwich, or the Vegetarian BBQ Chicken Sandwich. The Katsu Sandwich is my favorite.

Dear friends,
Well... I just got back from New York. It definitely was good to take a little break. I hung out mostly with No-No (who dj's next week) and caught up with a couple friends. I mostly took it easy and ate A LOT of food. 5 meals a day with snacks in between.
I went there mainly to catch The Specials show which was much fun if a bit anticlimactic because Terminal 5 is such a horrible venue. (More about that some other time.) It was a dream come true to see Terry Hall play with the rest of the band - something I've wanted to see since I first heard The Specials in the early 80's. He sounded great and was simultaneously cranky, gracious, on-point, bratty, thankful and funny.
While I was away, dj Ren guest dj'd at L/S and by all accounts he ROCKED THE HOUSE. I wish I could have been there to catch him spin. He'll be back to guest again, and I will join you on the dance floor to boogie the night away. Thanks, Ren, for sharing the music!
This week Eug is back. He had to postpone his regular spot a couple of weeks ago, and this is the make up date. I can go on and on about Eug and how awesome he is but suffice it to say... If you've been to his parties like Face or its previous incarnation, I Can't Feel My Face, at SOM, you know to catch every gig he spins at. If you haven't seen him yet, now is your chance. He does so many things well and plays music that's close to my heart. Disco, edits, spacey house, obscure new wave, maybe some italo, French indie, boogie, etc. Please join us this Thursday for another night of awesomeness!
Lastly, Friday, if you are not busy, come on down to Amedee's & my monthly happy hour gig at Beauty Bar, EARLY. Be prepared to get drunk quickly and start dancing while the sun is still out. Greg Morantz returns to decks in a guest appearance. He hasn't played with us in a while, and I'm sure he has some new nuggets to share.
Take care, guys, and I'll see you soon.

Dear friends,
Last week was definitely a little different for us... Raul took us into outer space while playing some shoe gaze classics, and bon vivant Anthony Gordon gave us some sweet slow jams for us sway and make out to. Variety is a spice of life, and they reminded me of that. Thanks for shuffling along with us while putting tax day in the rear view mirror.
This week Renmin Cardorna guest djs with us bringing a variety of dance classics the likes of which you probably haven't heard yet at L/S. I have an inkling of what he'll play, but I'll save it for you to discover this week. Rest assured it will be RAD. If you've haven't heard him spin at his gigs such as Sweaterfunk, you are in for a treat. Get down there and show him some love on Thursday night!
Enjoy the rest of this week, and I look forward to seeing you all soon. Lots fun on the horizon including some special events. Of course, I will keep you posted. Take care!

Dear friends,
With tax day looming on the horizon, the Mission seemed like a ghost town last Thursday except, of course, for LIFE/STYLE. It was definitely a later crowd but a great one nonetheless. Our guest dj Mitch aka Dj Yeah Right! played some fun sets and brought some much appreciated disco, electro and edits. Good job!
A special thanks to Alex aka Cuba Libre for coming down last minute who performed live percussion via his Roland drum pad. Timbales, cowbell, 808, etc.! His drumming added a very rad live element to the mix and got the crowd very pumped up. Alex and I are practicing with this set up and be on the look out for us to dj/perform more in the future whether it be at L/S or other parties.
This week dear friend, raconteur, paparazzo, etc. Anthony Gordon from Loquat returns for his regular L/S dj slot. I'm not sure what he's spinning this week but rest assured it will shake your A$$!
As always, Raul and I thank you for your continued support. See you on Thursday!

ps. Mark your calendars for Friday, April 23rd. Raul and friends will be dj-ing a benefit for Mission Creek Music Festival. Guests include The Selecter dj Kirk (Concrete Jungle/Sweaterfunk), Kelley Stoltz, EmDee (Debaser/Club Neon), and Neil Martinson (SMiLE!).
A bike maintenance morning at Pedal Revolution followed by a sweet americano at Ritual. So far so good.
At 330 Ritch... Omar is wearing his Echo and the Bunnymen t-shirt. Same one I bought in 1987. Good tunes. You should be here. Eug and autoKratz up next...

Dear friends,
LIFE/STYLE has been very consistent since the start and most of that has been due to each of you on this email list or on our Facebook group or those who follow our blog. The last few weeks, we've been gaining a lot of momentum related to you guys getting the word out there about Raul's & my dj night as well as the seemingly regular mentions in local print media and area blogs. We've met many, many new folks lately, and they're a becoming regular faces as well. I don't think we've ever had a particular style of regular party goer whether it be the indie kid, the mission hipster, the record nerd, the Marina-ite, Tendernobbers, etc. The only common thread I can make out is that everyone is generally NICE if at times a bit awkward, which is fine by me.
Last week, there were a couple of celebrations in the house: a birthday party and a bachelorette party. Mix that with our regular crowd, and it was weird but still fun time. Mitch aka Dj Yeah Right did a couple of impromptu sets and rocked the dance floor with some classic jams. If you missed him last week, he's back again for his actual guest dj slot with us. Come on out and show him some love!
As I mentioned last week, Red Stag by Jim Beam is our new liquor sponsor. Buying drinks made with that stuff is a good, cheap way to get your drink on. Give it a try if you are so inclined.
Lastly, I want to let you know that this YOUR club. If any one messes with you in any way, that is not cool. Surely we're all adults and can handle things on our own, but if anyone steps to you with some awkward game, let Raul or Matt or Josh or me know and we'll handle it for you. It's easy for us to do, and we prefer it so you can immediately go back to having your good time.
See you Thursday! Or see you tomorrow night at Raul's monthly live music party at the Make Out Room, Penny Arcade. Or any number of awesome events going on. It seems like SF has finally become a good town to go out and party in any day of the week. (Or least better than it ever has been maybe since the mid 90's...)

Ideal length for the men with less height...
Lily from SF Station was at Micke's art show and took pictures for their fashion blog. Pics were posted today which included a couple of lovely one's of Noel & Juliet. Their pic of me is fine, and the caption reads:

Tony Sison at the Micke Tong art opening at Public Barber Salon. Sison, a DJ for the Beauty Bar, is wearing a Top Man cropped trench that hits just below the waist. This length is ideal for men with less height. Sison also shows how to wear bright colors subtly. His magenta Helmut Lang sweater is bold, but only peeks though, making you want to see more.I couldn't help but smirk when I read this.
